ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – A Fremont, Indiana man was injured Saturday morning when he fell about 20 feet while getting his tree stand ready for the upcoming archery deer hunting season in Indiana.
58-year-old Todd Austin was treated at Parkview Regional Medical Center for his injuries.
Indiana Conversation Officers say Austin was trying to climb into a tree stand at about 7:30 a.m. when a strap on the climbing sticks attached to the tree broke and he fell to the ground.
Austin’s friend who was with him called 911.
The accident took place in the 3300 block of County Road 40 North near Angola.
