COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – It took firefighters almost two hours to get a fire at a two story home at 142 Burch Road in Coldwater Township under control late yesterday afternoon.
The fire was reported just after 4:00 p.m..
The family that lived in the home discovered the fire as they were returning home.
Two adults and five children who lived in the residence managed to get to safety. No serious injuries were reported.
The Coldwater Fire Department was initially dispatched. They got mutual aid from the Bronson and Quincy Fire Departments as additional tankers were requested.
The Branch County Sheriff’s Department Victim Services Unit was also at the scene.
The Lakeland Fire Department was called in to man the Coldwater Fire Station.
The fire was called under control just before 6:00 p.m.. The last crew cleared the scene just after 9:30 p.m..
Burch Road was shut down between Hodunk and River Roads in order to give firefighters room to operate. The cause of the fire as well as a dollar amount on the damage is not know
