COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A funeral service will be held Thursday for a 64-year-old Coldwater man killed in an apparent accident at Real Alloy in Coldwater Friday morning. Mark Douglas Weller was struck by a piece of heavy industrial equipment and pronounced dead at the scene shortly before 11:00 a.m.
Visitation for Weller will take place Wednesday, September 4, 2019 from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Weller had worked as a shipping supervisor for Acorn in Quincy for about 25 years and then went to Real Alloy in Coldwater as a loader and tower operator for the last five years.
A spokesperson for the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration confirmed an investigation into the incident began Friday. She added that typically this type of investigation may take several weeks or months. But she declined further comment while the investigation was open.
