QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The reconstruction of Berry Street in the Village of Quincy is scheduled to start next week.
Traffic barricades will go up Tuesday, September 3, with crews from Parrish Excavating beginning work the following day.
The project is expected to be done by the first of November.
Because of the construction, Berry between U.S. 12 and Liberty will be closed to through traffic.
Residents who can’t access their driveways or who can’t get out onto the road are being asked to inform the closest Parrish employee for assistance.
Village officials are also asking that marking flags not be removed otherwise construction will be delayed.
The project is being funded in part by a grant of $179,500 from the Michigan Department of Transportation. The local match was fifty percent.
The grant will be used primarily to reconstruct Berry Street. The work will include drainage, curb, and gutter improvements. Chip seal work on Main Street and other work on Bennett Street was also included in the grant.
Main Street will receive a chip seal and fog seal, while Bennett Street will get a chip seal with edge paving.
