COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch Intermediate School District Board of Education approved the hiring of Robin Norman who will serve in the newly created district position of School Psychologist Coordinator.
Special Education Director Darrin Adair said during the May meeting that the position is being created in order to lower the ratio of school psychologists to students in the BISD, which is currently one for every 1,900 students.
Norman has 38 years of experience in education. Adair said she had been serving the Calhoun Intermediate School District as a School Psychologist since 2004 but she will have to start at the Step One salary level with the BISD since this will be her first job as a coordinator.
The Board also approved the hiring of Lori Doubleday to fill one of the school psychologist positions on a part-time basis.
