HARRIS, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Clerk Terry Kubasiak was named the Michigan Association of County Clerks “Clerk of the Year” last week during the association’s 111th Annual Summer Conference at Island Resort in Harris.
According to the Escanaba Daily Press, Kubasiak was honored for her nearly 15 years of dedicated service to citizens and the association on the Vital Records Revision Committee and in other organizational roles.
The award recipient is selected based on criteria formulated by the association’s Board of Directors.
Nominations are submitted from other Clerks and the Clerk of the Year Committee.
Last week’s conference was the first held in the U.P. since 2006.
Among those attending was Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and members of the Michigan Bureau of Elections as discussions were held in preparation for the 2020 elections.
