JONESVILLE, MI (WTVB) – A Jonesville man was formally charged with six counts following a violent domestic dispute Sunday night at his home on East Mosherville Road.
A spokesman at the Hillsdale County Jail says 37-year-old Thomas Daniel Brown was arraigned on five counts of domestic violence and one count of strangulation after being initially booked on 11 charges.
Hillsdale County Sheriff Tim Parker told the Hillsdale Daily News that at one point during the domestic dispute, a urn containing the ashes of the couple’s late son fell off a shelf and broke.
Parker also reported the suspect had been drinking before the fight.
Brown’s bond has been set at $45,000 with 10 percent allowed.
