COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Director of Environmental Health Paul Andriacchi reported to the Community Health Agency Board of Health Thursday that the inspection of 37 food vendors at the Branch County Fair went very smoothly, as they took part in a pilot program from the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
He said they brought in staff from the three counties the Community Health Agency serves and they were able to complete all the inspections in one day.
A staff member from the MDARD was on hand to help local officials understand the processes their agency had used for the fair inspections in the past.
Andriacchi said one of their biggest concerns coming into the fair was getting vendors to apply for the food permits with the local agency instead of the MDARD, but there were no issues with that.
