COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A fundraising effort is underway for the restoration of the Naval Parrot Gun in the Four Corners Park in downtown Coldwater.
Coldwater City Manager Keith Baker says in his report for Monday’s City Council meeting that it’s one of the two naval guns that were for a long time displayed in front of the former Michigan National Guard Armory.
He says the military artifact will be disassembled, repaired and restored to an historically appropriate appearance.
The city will be funding half of the project, while private donations that have been gifted to the Branch County Community Foundation will pay for the other half.
