QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Village Council revoked one of the Medical Marijuana Provisioning Center licenses they issued earlier this year during a special meeting Tuesday night.
The license for EAN Development north of the McDonald’s Restaurant was revoked because of what village officials felt was a lack of any progress. It was one of the three medical marijuana provisioning licenses that were approved in February 2019.
Village Manager Eric Zuzga said at the time that there five applications for the provisionary center and one application for a processor.
Meanwhile, the State of Michigan may be just a few months away from having legalized recreational marijuana available for purchase by adults. Marijuana Regulatory Agency Director Andrew Brisbo said at the Michigan Association of Broadcasters meeting in Grand Rapids Tuesday that licenses for recreational marijuana dispensaries could be issued before Thanksgiving in some cases.
With Michigan being the first state in the Midwest to legalize the sale and possession of up to two-and-a-half ounces of grass for those 21 and older, Brisbo expects Michigan to experience marijuana tourism as well.
