FLORENCE TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A man was killed while a woman was flown out with what were described as serious injuries following a one vehicle crash in St. Joseph County’s Florence Township early Friday morning.
The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department says the fatal victim was driving a vehicle on Centreville-Constantine Road near Burgener Road when it went off the road, struck a pair of trees head on, flipped over and landed on the its passenger side.
Sheriff Bradley Balk says the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
After being freed from the vehicle, Balk reports the injured woman was flown by West Michigan Air Care to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.
The Sheriff’s Department did not release the names of the people involved in the crash.
