COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater City Manager Keith Baker updated the City Council this week on several ongoing road construction projects.
The extension of Thompson Blvd. is now underway and is scheduled to be completed by the end of August. Sanitary sewer is the primary utility that is being constructed along with the road, curb, gutter and sidewalks.
Baker also reported that Stout Excavating recently completed a stormwater drainage project on Race Street, west of Butters Avenue, to alleviate flooding in the area and provide a path for stormwater to reach the Sauk River.
Meanwhile, an extensive reconstruction project has taken place this summer on South Jefferson between U.S. 12 and East Park Avenue. With the installation of manholes as deep as 15 feet and the use of generators and pumps to bypass the existing sewage line, Baker is asking the public to continue avoiding the area.
Baker says the water main and service line work has been completed and testing is underway. The sanitary sewer work is next. The South Jefferson project is scheduled to be finished by the end of August.
