COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Plans for the third annual fundraising event to battle cancer at Coldwater High School called “Fight the Fight” have been announced.
Dawn Beckhusen, who is coordinating the event again this year which raises money for the ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital’s Community Cancer Center, says the event has grown tremendously in a short time.
Things will be done differently this year as they try to get more support from the community.
“Fight the Fight” will take place between September 22 and October 18, 2019.
Fall sports student-athletes at Coldwater High School will be sporting purple attire during designated home games that will honor loved ones affected by cancer.
Families, friends and anyone who wishes to show their support may purchase an athlete’s jersey and be able to place a name of loved one that is a survivor or if they lost their battle with cancer for this special event.
Beckhusen says nearly $10,000 was raised from last year’s event.
