BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – Smoke testing of the City of Bronson’s sewer system is scheduled to start next week.
City Manager Brandon Mersman said during Monday night’s City Council meeting that if the weather cooperates, the contractor from Prein and Newhof plans to be done around July 4, 2019.
All residents will get a postcard or fact sheet with the dates of the tests, what they can expect and ways to reduce smoke in their homes.
The smoke testing is being done to find breaks and defects in the sewer system. In addition, crews will be looking for places where storm and other waters are entering the sanitary sewers.
Residents are being reminded the smoke is not harmful nor will it “stop up” the sewers.
