COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – For the ninth straight year, organizers for the annual Coldwater Swap Meet and Car Show have donated money back to many non-profit agencies in the area.
A total of 14 local organizations will split $26,100 in donations from this year’s 32nd annual show held May 11-12 at the Branch County Fairgrounds.
The non profit groups received their checks from the Swap Meet and Car Show committee Tuesday night at the Branch County Fairgrounds.
Event Chair Dale Parshall said there were 999 cars registered this year and for the first time ever the craft venue and swap meet areas were sold out.
Since the Swap Meet and Car Show was reorganized into a non-profit organization in 2010, it has given out $194,150 to other non-profit groups in Branch County.
This year’s recipients were once again the Branch County Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence, Branch Area Food Bank, Branch County Fairgrounds, Branch Area Careers Center, Family Promise of Branch County, First Presbyterian Health Clinic, Sexual Assault Services of Branch County, Jacobs Well Ministries, Coach Eby Youth and Family Center, Branch County Humane Society, Tommie’s House, the Children’s Museum of Branch County, and the Beginnings Care for Life Center.
Parshall also announced that Gary Wilber and Chuck Swan will be the co chairs for next year’s event May 9-10, 2020.
