BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson City Council approved a $15,000 bid from Shimp Excavating Monday night for the demolition of the blighted home at 7 Foy Court. It was one of two bids submitted.
Bronson City Manager Brandon Mersman says they have had some interest from a couple of salvage/antique companies who would like go through the home and salvage anything of value before its torn down.
In addition, the Bronson Fire Department will use it for training before its torn down. Mersman says this will help offset some of the demolition expense.
Mersman said recently the site would be a great location for a farmer’s market with plenty of parking and a close proximity to its current downtown location.
