LAKE PLEASANT, IN (WTVB) – A Fremont man was killed Tuesday night when his motorcycle struck a tree just south of the Michigan-Indiana state line.
The Indiana State Police reports 27-year-old Eric P. Corcimiglia was killed in the accident which took place at about 7:00 p.m. on County Road 450 West just north of Lane 101 at Lake Pleasant.
According to a preliminary investigation by the State Police, Corcimiglia failed to negotiate a curve. His motorcycle then went off the road and struck a tree.
Although he was wearing a helmet, Corcimiglia suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Steuben County Coroner’s Office.
Drugs or alcohol are not believed to be contributing factors in the accident.
The Steuben County Sheriff Department, the Fremont Fire Department, Steuben County EMS and the Steuben County Coroner’s Office assisted at the scene.
