COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – After it rained on 23 days during the soggy month of May in the City of Coldwater, Wednesday morning’s heavy rain in Branch County added insult to injury for farmers who have been unable to get into their fields.
Planting of corn and soybeans is far behind schedule thanks to the almost daily doses of rain.
Even though no watches or warnings were issued by the National Weather Service on Wednesday morning, very heavy rain and thunder moved through Branch County during the early morning hours.
The rain brought with it some areas of street flooding. Areas of showers and thunderstorms are expected through the day Wednesday, before finally ending Wednesday evening.
The next chance of showers according to the weather forecast is expected to take place on Sunday.
