COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – While the name has now changed, the mission remains fhe same: helping the homeless of Branch County.
The organization formerly known as Family Promise of Branch County has changed it’s name to Family Hope Outreach.
Officials with Family Hope Network say the decision is the result of review and discussion by their board of directors over the last several months. They say while they recognize the beneficial work being done by Family Promise in the larger cities across the nation, the geographic, cultural and financial situation for the Branch County organization did not provide them with the opportunity of effectively utilizing the benefits and offers of Family Promise National.
The group says they no longer believe that the services offered by the Family Promise organization were worht the cost to their organization. They say bynarrowing costs and using all of their funding locally, they will be able to assist more families and see greater results.
Family Hope Network is supported by local local churches, community partners, private donors, and service clubs. They provide housing for the homeless at a rotating set of churches throughout the year, and provide other services at their headquarters on Washington Street in Coldwater.
