COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater man who is scheduled to be sentenced in two weeks for being in possession of a controlled substance was arrested Friday night for allegedly being in possession of methamphetamine in Waterworks Park.
According to court documents, 25-year-old Zachary Lee Otis was arrested by Coldwater Police. Besides meth possession, Otis was also charged with violating terms of his conditional release.
He was arraigned on the latest charges Monday in Branch County District Court where bond was set at $50,000.
A probable cause hearing was scheduled for next Tuesday, with a preliminary exam June 4, 2019.
Otis was arrested last October in front of a home on Jackson Street. He later entered a guilty plea to being in possession of less than 25 grams of a controlled substance and is scheduled to be sentenced in Branch County Circuit Court June 3, 2019.
As part of a plea bargain agreement, charges of meth possession and tampering with evidence were dismissed by prosecutors in exchange for his guilty plea.
