JACKSON, MI (WTVB) – In high school baseball, Coldwater lost both ends of an Interstate 8 Conference doubleheader at Jackson Lumen Christi Tuesday by scores of 10-0 and 6-5.
The Cardinals had a 4-1 lead in the nightcap before Lumen Christi rallied for five runs in the last of the sixth. Zach Rigot had three hits and four RBI’s. Bryce Lafferty had two hits.
Bronson grabbed first place in the Big 8 Conference as they swept a doubleheader at Homer by scores of 9-6 and 1-0. Brett Sikorski was the winning pitcher in the opener. He and Blaine Robinson had two hits. Kameron Haviland earned the save.
Bronson’s run in the first inning of the nightcap was all they needed as Haviland struck out seven in four-and-two-thirds innings to get the win. Robinson earned the save. Hudson Wotta had two hits in the second game.
Quincy swept Springport by scores of 11-1 and 7-2 as Caleb McCavit tied a QHS career base hit record in the opening game with two hits. First game winning pitcher Chandler Locke struck out seven in five innings of work and helped his own cause with two RBI’s. Matt Hagaman and Trenton Adkins both had three hits in the second game. Adkins also collected two RBI’s. McCavit went the distance on the mound as he tossed a one-hitter and struck out 10 batters.
