COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council formally approved the sale of two vacant lots at 105 East Washington and at 84 East Pierce on Monday night.
Jacob and Sarah Fronczak are purchasing the lot on East Washington for $1,000. They have lived adjacent to the property since 2014. The Fronczaks intend to place a garage on the property and have more space for their children to play.
David and Trisha Lanning are buying the home on East Pierce for $1,500. They live across the street from the property.
Residential structures were previously on the sites until they were demolished by the City of Coldwater as part of an effort to remove structures that the city found to be deteriorated beyond rehabilitation.
The city purchased the properties through the State of Michigan’s tax foreclosure program.
City Attorney Megan Angell said the offer from both the Fronczaks and Lannings were consistent with prices at which the city has sold other lots to adjacent property owners.
