COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Quincy man was sent to prison for at least 23 months and ordered to pay over $36,000 in restitution Monday in Branch County Circuit Court for his involvement in a number of BB gun incidents in Coldwater and Quincy.
44-year-old Ricky Dale Cox II entered no contest pleas in three criminal cases filed against him by the Branch County Prosecutor’s Office.
All of the sentences will run concurrently. Cox was given 23 months to five years on each of the two counts for malicious destruction of property between $1,000 and $20,000.
He got a sentence of 23 months to 10 years for breaking and entering a building with intent.
In exchange for his pleas, all over pending cases in Branch County District Court were dropped but Cox had to pay restitution in all of the cases filed against him.
Cox was given credit for 81 days already served in the Branch County Jail.
Over a dozen charges had been originally filed against Cox including six counts of malicious destruction of property, three counts of receiving and concealing stolen property and two counts of second degree home invasion.
Cox was arrested following an investigation by police in Coldwater and Quincy and the Michigan State Police into nearly three dozen reports of BB vandalism.
