COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The next step in the process of building a new Branch County Jail is the selection of a company to perform construction services.
County Administrator Bud Norman told the Branch County Board of Commissioners during their work session last Thursday that six sealed proposals were submitted before the May 8, 2019 deadline.
Commissioners decided to interview on May 23 the top four candidates selected by the Jail Committee.
The candidates will be given 20 minutes to make their presentations. The Commissioners will then have 20 minutes to ask questions.
Norman also reported to Commissioners that the Jail Committee feels they are at the point where they can have the Department of Corrections review the plans. The Committee is also awaiting the results on the Geotechnical Survey to see if the soil will support the Jail Construction.
