WILLIAMSTON, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater High School boys were third while the Coldwater girls finished fifth Saturday at the Williamston Track Invitational.
The meet was highlighted by Dylan Targgart setting a new school record in the boys shot put with a distance of 65 feet, nine inches as he broke the record of 65 feet, a half inch that he set last season. Targgart also won the discus for the Cardinals.
Coldwater’s Matt Gipple was also a double winner as he was first in the 100 and the long jump and Kyle Foulk won the 3200. The 400 relay team of Dillon Lawhead, Hunter Eldridge, Colby Schoch and Gipple finished second.
Elka Machan won the 1600 after setting a school record last Wednesday in a meet against Pennfield and Jackson Northwest. Her new record time is 5:05.88.
The Coldwater girls also got a first place finish from the 3200 relay team of Kathy Potter, Tyler Scheid, Carolyn Potter, and Machan. Kathy Potter also finished second in the 800.
