UNION TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A Charlotte man was seriously injured Thursday afternoon in a rollover accident near Union City.
The Branch County Sheriff’s Department says 44-year-old David Brandt was heading west on Union City Road north of Hayner Road at around 1:30 p.m. when his car went out of control in the curve and rolled over several times.
Brandt was the only occupant of the vehicle. He was ejected from the car as it rolled over. The Sheriffs Department investigation shows seat belts were not worn and alcohol may have contributed to the crash.
Union City Police, Fire and Life Care Ambulance treated Brandt and later took his to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
Michigan State Police also assisted the Sheriff’s Department.
