JACKSON, MI (WTVB) – In high school golf, Coldwater finished third out of 17 teams Tuesday at the Onsted Invitational which was played at the Grande Golf Course in Jackson. Coldwater shot a team score of 332. Marshall won the event with a team score of 308.
Coldwater was led by Alec Keplinger whose 78 was good enough for fifth place overall and Noah Waterbury who shot a 79 good for eighth place. Other scores for Coldwater were Kyle Herman with an 84, Kyle Sheppard shot a 91 and Grey Skudlarick rounded out the scoring with a 104.
The rainy spring weather blew up the Branch County high school sports schedule once again on Tuesday. Coldwater’s baseball and girls softball games with Jackson Northwest were postponed until next Wednesday. Coldwater’s track meet with Jackson Northwest and Pennfield was postponed until Wednesday afternoon.
Also rained out Tuesday were baseball and girls softball games with Bronson hosting Reading, Quincy playing at Concord and Union City hosting Homer. The Quincy and Union City games will be made up on Friday. Bronson will make up their games against Reading on Thursday. In addition, Bronson’s girls tennis match with Niles Brandywine was cancelled.
