SHERWOOD TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A Go Fund Me page has been established to help pay the medical expenses for the two Sherwood Township youngsters who are still hospitalized after they were struck by a vehicle Monday afternoon near their home while riding their bikes.
Three siblings were injured. One suffered minor injuries but is doing okay.
According to the Go Fund Me post entitled “Risner Clan Will Find A Way”, 13-year-old Landen Risner and six-year-old Roman Risner suffered more serious injuries.
Roman suffered a femur fracture and had plates and screws inserted during surgery on Tuesday.
Landen is currently hospitalized in the PICU at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. At last report, he was in critical condition with a severe head injury.
The organizer of the Go Fund Me page, Angie Hartman, says “Any support you can provide this family to ensure Landen gets the best neurological care possible is MUCH appreciated. I have no idea what amount to anticipate but we are getting referrals from some of the best pediatric doctors in the country.”
She is hoping to raise $30,000. Over $10,000 was raised in the first five hours after the page was created.
