COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The City of Coldwater Planning Commission will be asked Monday night to take action on a request to build a six-unit development on over two acres of land next to the Meadowview Senior Apartment complex.
Plans call for three duplexes at the corner of Farm Lane and Western Avenue, with two units in each duplex. Each unit would have three bedrooms.
Dennis Neitzka of Farm Lane Development is the applicant.
City Planner Dean Walrack says the applicant’s layout consists of three single-story two-unit buildings.
The estimated cost of construction is just under $1 million.
Also on the agenda will be a discussion on adult and child group day care homes. The discussion is expected to center around City Attorney Megan Angell’s interpretation of a city zoning ordinance which has a provision that calls for contiguous open space of at least 5,000 square feet. The provision also states the requirement can be waived if public open space is available within 500 feet of the subject parcel.
