COMSTOCK, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy boys finished first at the Comstock Invitational on Friday as they edged Parchment by five points while Centreville won the girls meet by two points over Quincy. Bronson finished sixth in the boys meet and third in girls meet.
In the boys meet, Quincy had 122.4 points followed by Parchment with 117.6. Centreville and Bloomingdale tied for third with 112 points apiece.
Eric Butchart of Quincy won the 3200 and was second in both the 800 and the 1600. Ian Trall was second in the 110 hurdles, third in the 300 hurdles and third in the high jump. Alex Pickell was second in the 300 hurdles. A.J. Henderson was third in the shot put while Evan Coon was fourth. Evan Henning was second in the discus. Drake Crabbs was second in the pole vault. Bronson’s Luis Ortiz was fourth in the 1600 and third in the 3200. Alex Vanblarcom was fourth in the 110 hurdles. Nick Gates was third in the discus. Gerardo Martinez was fourth in the pole vault. Bronson was third while Quincy was fourth in the 800 relay. Quincy was fourth in the 400 and 3200 relays.
In the girls meet, Centreville had 149 points followed by Quincy with 147. Bronson finished third with 99 points. Quincy winners were Jessica Holcomb (100 and long jump), Madelyn Allman (100 hurdles and 300 hurdles), Makinzie Groves (pole vault) and Emily Hollenbaugh (high jump). Mackenzie Horsfall was was third in the 200, Makenzie Blatter was third in the 3200, Macy Allman was fourth in the 110 hurdles, Sarah Bostic was third in the shot put while her teammate Alizabeth Little was fourth. Carianne Thomas was fourth in the discus. Flo Vito tied for third in the pole vault. Bronson’s Xochitl Garcia won the 3200 and was second in the 1600. Madelyn Thompson won the discus and was second in the shot put. Jenna Salek was second in both the 100 and 400. Ali Fish was fourth in the 300 hurdles. Quincy won the 400 relay. The Orioles were second in the 800 and third in the 1600. Bronson won the 1600 relay and were third in both the 800 and the 3200.
