COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In high school baseball, Marshall swept Coldwater in an Interstate 8 Conference doubleheader Tuesday night at Lowe Field by scores of 16-1 and 10-5.
Hunter St. Clair had an RBI single in the opener. The Red Hawks snapped a 4-4 tie in the nightcap with a four run fifth inning.
Austin Santure had three hits and scored twice in the second game while Bryce Lafferty and Brady McFarland both had two hits and Austin Roby had an RBI double.
The Cardinals are now 2-2 in the I-8 and 6-7 overall.
Coldwater swept Marshall in the J.V. doubleheader by scores of 10-5 and 5-4 as the Cardinals improved to 8-4.
Union City and Quincy split their Big 8 conference doubleheader. The Chargers won the opener 7-2 while the Orioles took the nightcap 6-3.
First game winning pitcher Larson Kever struck out 13 as he went the distance while Kyle Johnson drove in three runs for the Chargers. Quincy used a four run third to win the second game which was shortened to five innings because of darkness. Winning pitcher Chandler Locke helped his own cause at the plate with two hits and two RBI’s.
The JV doubleheader was split. Union City won the first game 12-1 with Quincy winning game two 9-4.
Bronson swept a Big 8 Conference doubleheader at Springport by scores of 13-0 and 11-6. First game winning pitcher Kameron Haviland tossed a one-hitter and struck out seven batters. Haviland helped his own cause at the plate with three hits including a homer and five RBI’s.
The Vikings used a seven-run sixth inning to win the nightcap. Haviland collected three RBI’s while Dylan Smith drove in a pair of runs.
