HASTINGS, MI (WTVB) – In girls high school tennis Monday, Coldwater opened the Interstate 8 portion of their schedule with a 4-4 tie at Hastings.
Winning for Coldwater were Meredith Grife at number one singles, Faith Herendeen at number two singles, the number two doubles team of Amber Aguirre and Mae Blansit and the number three doubles team of Loveleen Lalia and Elloree Madden.
The Cardinals overall record is 2-3-2.
Bronson lost at home to Battle Creek St. Philip 7-1. The lone Viking point came from the number one doubles team of Paris Outwater and Makensy Jourdan.
The Legg Middle School tennis team opened up their season with a 6-2 victory at Three Rivers.
Singles winners were Eric Rucker, Ella O’Grady, and Parkyr Jones. Doubles teams that were victorious were Emma Madden and Claire Hawver , Gabby Bookmyer and Hunter Barnett, and Alexis Wood and Josselyn Martinez.
Exhibition teams that won were Garrett Gruner and Liz Larr, Dakota Allen and Bentley Zuzga , Emma Frey and Hannah Fulk, Kylee Barnett and Maggie Vitto, and Harper Muller-Michael and Lily Roscoe.
