BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson Vikings girls softball team opened the 2021 season on Saturday by dropping both ends of a doubleheader with Gull Lake by scores of 7-5 and 14-8.
Jadyn Cary had two hits including a double in the opener along with two stolen bases. Pitcher Lynsey Smith struck out five in going the distance. She and Dekoda Kline both had a double.
Gull Lake took advantage of Bronson errors to score nine unearned runs in the nightcap. Smith and Karissa Gest both had two hits in the second game.
Bronson Coach Becky Gray said, “We really struggled defensively today. We have a lot of work moving forward and with the right attitudes we will get better every day.”
