FREMONT, IN (WTVB) – A Fremont, Indiana man was killed Monday when two vehicles collided head-on on State Road 127 near County Road 500 North in Steuben County.
The Steuben County Sheriff’s Department says 68-year-old Sandra Keck of Orland was traveling south, when for some unknown reason, her vehicle went off the road at about 12 noon.
Deputies report she overcorrected her vehicle, which caused it to cross the center line and crash into a pickup truck driven by 68-year-old Dorothy Spangler of Fremont.
The two drivers were taken to Cameron Memorial Community Hospital in Angola for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
However, 59-year-old Michael Eugene Spangler of Fremont, who was a passenger in the pickup truck, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Steuben County Coroner’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Department is still investigating the accident.
