BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The family of a young Bronson man who was one of two people found dead in January 2019 from an accidental carbon monoxide poisoning in Battle Creek has made a financial donation to the Bronson Fire Department.
In memory of Brandon Bull, his family has asked that the fire department purchase CO detectors and smoke detectors, which will be distributed free to the public.
Bull, along with Cylie Canniff of Coldwater, had been using a gas-powered generator to operate a kerosene heater in a house on Capital Avenue Southwest that was being remodeled. Bull was assisting a contractor with the remodeling project.
The couple stayed the night in the home, which had no utilities. A man who was working on the home found the deceased couple when he arrived for work the following morning. The couple’s five month old son survived.
In addition to the donation from Bull’s family, the Bronson Fire Department has received funds donated in memory of Sharon Carpenter.
The money will be used to buy lifesaving medical equipment for the Bronson Fire Department’s rescue truck.
