COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater City Manager Keith Baker told the City Council Monday night that the proposed renovation work of the Four Corners Park could start sometime this fall.
He said they have asked the architect to finalize numbers and prepare construction drawings in hopes of having the project go to bid in the middle of summer which would allow for a start in the fall.
Baker said they want to avoid work being done at the same time downtown events are being held so any work this year would have to wait until after Applefest in September.
Renovating the Four Corners Park has been discussed for almost seven years.
The last renovation took place in the early 1970’s as part of urban renewal.
Baker earlier estimated the cost of the project would be $475,000, with the city paying $250,000. The balance would be paid through fundraising and a state grant.
The project is expected to be part of the city’s budget discussions.
