COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council will be asked Monday night to put an agreement for the sale of a vacant lot at 105 East Washington on the table for 30 days.
An offer has been made to the city by a neighboring couple to buy the property for $1,000, which according to City Attorney Megan Angell is consistent with the prices the city has sold other lots to adjacent property owners.
The city bought the property, which used to be the site of a residential structure until it was torn down late last year through the State of Michigan’s tax foreclosure program.
Under terms of the City Charter, an offer to buy city owned property must stay on the clerk’s desk for 30 days. Other bids can be submitted for City Council review during that time.
