COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners approved a pair of requests to fill vacant positions during their meeting Friday.
One request came from Prosecutor Valerie White who wants to hire an Assistant Prosecutor to replace Scott Smith which would bring the number of prosecutors back up to three.
Commissioner Terri Norris said the person hired would start according to the non-union Prosecutor pay scale of over $65,500.
In addition, the Commissioners approved a request from Juvenile Court Administrator Zachary Rusk to fill a Youth Specialist position for the Day Treatment program which became vacant two weeks ago.
The person hired would start at an SEIU Level Six starting wage of $12.92 an hour.
Rusk said in his letter to Commissioners that the position became vacant on March eighth when a previous Youth Specialist was terminated.
