UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – The Union City Senior Center Committee says they have received an overwhelming amount of support for the senior center project in a very short amount of time and have raised nearly $10,000 in just 10 days.
Organizers need to raise $150,000 to buy the former Putnam Funeral Home and renovate it into a multi use building for seniors in Union City and the surrounding area.
Forms will be going out with Village utility bills this month. They are also available at the Union City Village Office.
The Village has partnered with the Branch County Community Foundation for the fundraiser after getting help from them with the Rick Mears Amphitheater project.
The Village Council decided in January to enter into a contract with the current owner of the building to hold it while the fundraising takes place.
