COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – An attempted homicide case of a former inmate at the Lakeland Correctional Facility has been bound over to Branch County Circuit Court.
28-year-old Donald James Talaski Junior waived his District Court preliminary exam which was scheduled for Thursday. He is scheduled to appear for a pre-trial conference in Circuit Court April 22, 2019.
Talaski was charged after he allegedly stabbed another inmate last September in the prison’s exercise yard.
According to the Michigan Department of Corrections website, Talaski is locked up at the Oaks Correctional Facility in Manistee.
He was sentenced out of Tuscola County in May 2015 to a term of six years, four months to 15 years on a pair of weapons convictions including a count of a felon in possession of a firearm.
