BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Three Branch County high school baseball pitchers were involved in no hitters on Tuesday night.
The Bronson Vikings swept a Big 8 Conference doubleheader at Springport by scores of 15-1 and 26-0. Blaine Robinson threw a no hitter for the Vikings in the opener as he struck out 12 in the five inning game. He also helped his own cause with a triple and three RBI’s.
Reagan Mayer was the winning pitcher in the nightcap thanks to a 19 run first inning for the Vikings. Dylan Smith drove in six runs while Nolan Ray had five RBI’s.
The Union City Chargers defeated the Quincy Orioles 11-1 in the first game of a scheduled doubleheader on Tuesday night at Alumni Field as Kyle Johnson and Wade Hoffman combined on a no hitter for the Chargers. Johnson struck out six in four innings of work. Logan Bailey drove in three runs.
Union City was leading Quincy 5-2 in the top of the fifth inning of the second game when play was suspended due to darkness.
