COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council will be asked MOnday night to approve a bid of over $23,500 from Backyard Kreations of Bronson for the landscaping of the Chandler Plaza parking lot.
Backyard Kreations had the lowest of the four bids submitted and came under the budget of over $29,000. The recommendation to approve the bid comes from P.M. Blough, Incorporated which is serving as a consultant for the city.
City Manager Keith Baker says the entire Chandler Plaza parking lot project has come in on budget.
Besides the landscaping, other work this spring will include the restriping of the parking lot and some touch up painting.
The Council will also be asked to approved the first budget amendments for the Fiscal Year 2018-2019 which will bring the budget deficit down from $228,600 to $193,600. The proposed amendments will increase revenues by $273,000 and expenditures by $238,000. Baker says the projected deficit is about the same as the planned purchase of a backhoe for the Municipal Services Department which he says can be put off if necessary.
