COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – On a 4-1 vote during a special meeting on Friday afternoon, the Branch County Board of Commissioners authorized County Administrator Bud Normal to enter into property negotiations concerning the tower for the 911 Communications Project which would be built south of Coldwater.
The action came after the Commissioners went into a closed session for an hour to discuss land acquisition.
Commissioner Jon Houtz made the motion after the Commissioners came back into open session.
Commissioner Tim Stoll cast the only no vote.
The 911 Communications Board recommended to the Commissioners on Wednesday that they authorize Norman to enter into negotiations with property owners near the school property.
Five acres of the school property was the county’s first choice for the 911 tower but no agreement has been reached between the county and Coldwater Community Schools.
The school is far to greedy and will not negotiate honestly. With Dud Norman representing the county most likely we will have to forfeit another deputy to pay for it. No good can possible come from them working together.
