QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Village Council voted Tuesday night to amend a resolution that would increase the number of medical marijuana provisioning centers in the village to three and provisionally awarded them to three of the five applicants that were received.
Village Manager Eric Zuzga says the three applicants will still need to complete site plan and the state licensing process.
In other business, the Council approved a resolution which authorized an application for a $147,500 MDOT grant that will pay for half of the cost of reconstructing Berry Street. If approved, it would be a project that would take place this year.
The Council also approved prohibiting parking on Orange Street from 6-8:30 and 2-4 during the week. Zuzga says this area has become a major problem for traffic around the school due to the amount of traffic and people parking on the road between Wood and Fulton.
Zuzga added Quincy Township and the Village are moving ahead with the purchase of the fire truck with the proceeds of the millage approved by Township voters in 2017. A financing arrangement with Southern Michigan Bank & Trust will be acted upon Wednesday night by the Township. If approved, the final documents and truck payment will be completed by the end of the month.
