COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater High School boys varsity basketball team took out their frustration of losing three straight games on the Three Rivers Wildcats Monday night as they romped to a 90-62 victory.
Coldwater established control with a 26-16 lead after the first quarter and built the lead to 43-31 at the half. Unlike in recent games, the Cardinals controlled the third quarter as they outscored Three Rivers 23-16 to take a 66-47 lead. For good measure, they outscored the Wildcats in the fourth quarter 24-15 as the Cardinals improved to 13-5.
Gage McGuire scored a game-high 22 points for Coldwater. He also grabbed nine rebounds. Ethan Crabtree had 20 points and four assists while Brandon Downs had 10 points. Dylan Targgart and Austin Santure both had six rebounds. Damon Beckhusen had six assists and four steals.
Freshman— Coldwater 64, Three Rivers 45 (Jett Galloway led a balanced Coldwater attack with 15 points while Nate Tappenden and Gavin Budd both had 11 points.
