THREE RIVERS, MI (WTVB) – In girls high school basketball Monday, Coldwater improved its record to 16-1 with a 70-33 victory at Three Rivers. The Lady Cards scored the first 10 points of the game and saw all ten players hit the scoring column.
Tyler Scheid led the way with 19 points including 17 in the first half. She also had seven rebounds, four steals and three assists. Carlee Crabtree added 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Samantha Rodesiler dished out 10 assists as the Cardinals totaled a season high 27 assists on the night.
Coldwater can clinch it’s first conference championship since 1992 when they host Jackson Lumen Christi this Friday on Senior Night.
JV— Coldwater 39, Three Rivers 35 (Abby Herman led Coldwater with 19 points. She and Brooke Moore both had seven rebounds. Moore also had seven steals.)
Freshman— Coldwater 41, Three Rivers 36 (Jenni Hernandez and Jayla Foster both scored 13 points for the Cardinals. Ally Aker added nine points.)
Quincy 39, Reading 35
Quincy hit four foul shots in crunch time as they defeated Reading 39-35 on Monday night. Katie Rathbun led the Orioles with 11 points and nine rebounds. Jessica Holcomb had nine points and nine rebounds as the Orioles improved to 9-8 overall and 5-7 in the Big Eight Conference
===MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL===
The Coldwater Legg Middle School 8th grade girls basketball team lost in overtime to Harper Creek 47-40. Legg was lead in scoring by Brooklyn Kerry with 24 points.
The Legg Middle School 7th grade A girls basketball team brought home a 38-27 victory at Harper Creek on Monday as they improved to 3-4 for the season. MacKenzie Scheid led the way with 13 points and 13 rebounds while Jaelah Sloan had 13 points and seven steals.
The 7th Grade B team lost to Harper Creek 24-17.
