COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater High School girls gymnastics team wrapped up the South Central Gymnastics League portion of their schedule Saturday as they finished second at the conference meet they hosted and second in the conference for the season.
The Cardinals had 133.475 points on Saturday. The Jackson Area cooperative program, which is made up of six different school districts, won the meet with 139.175 points and went undefeated for the season. It was the highest finish for Coldwater in the conference in three decades.
Highlights for the day included Coldwater’s Leah Goodwin winning conference championships in the vault and floor exercise. She also finished third in the all around. McKenna Hantz, Erica Rodgers and Layla Schoch won all conference honors as well. Rodgers finished second on the uneven bars.
Meanwhile, six Cardinals earned All-Conference Academic honors. They were Avery Boyce, Sarah Forrester, Rodgers, Schoch, Claire Sheppard and Abby Travelbee.
