MENDON, MI (WTVB) – Top-ranked and defending MHSAA Division 4 champion Hudson defeated Bronson 54-19 in the Team Wrestling Regional semifinals on Wednesday night in Mendon.
Starting at 160 pounds, the Vikings built a 19-18 lead over the Tigers thanks to a pin by Ruger Ranney. Bronson then got a decision from Justin Blankenship at 189, a pin in just seven seconds by Alex Tyer at 285 and a major decision from Ben Modert at 112. But Hudson won the last seven matches to move onto the regional final.
Hudson advanced to the state quarterfinals next Friday at the Wings Event Center in Kalamazoo with a 60-9 victory over Mendon in the regional final.
