CALIFORNIA TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Two Indiana men were injured Tuesday morning in a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Fremont and Copeland Roads.
The Branch County Sheriff’s Department says the crash was reported just after 8:00 a.m. when a pickup truck driven by 32-year-old Evan Lindsey of Fort Wayne failed to stop for a stop sign and collided with a northbound Chevrolet Tahoe driven by 69-year-old James Wagenknecht of Hamilton.
The Samaritan Helicopter from Indiana was called in. Both men were taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
A hospital spokesperson said Tuesday afternoon Wagenknecht was in critical condition.
The Sheriff’s Department is still investigating the crash. A State Police accident reconstructionist was brought in to assist.
It was the fourth injury accident in Branch County in just over 24 hours.
The Sheriff’s Department were assisted by the Michigan State Police, the Fremont Fire Department, the Branch County Road Commission and Life Care Ambulance.
