GIRARD TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – An electrical short in a classic 1956 Ford Fairlane stored in a small garage and shed at 1193 Marshall has been determined by Coldwater fire investigators as the cause of a Monday morning which destroyed the structure and the vehicle inside.
The fire was reported at 10:23 a.m. in the midst of extremely busy morning for police and firefighters in Branch County which included a fatal crash and two other injury accidents.
Damages were estimated at $25,000. No injuries were reported.
Smoke from the fire could be seen by firefighters as they raced to the scene.
The Coldwater Fire Department managed to put out the fire fairly quickly.
Mutual aide was requested from the Quincy and Tekonsha Fire Departments but they were later call off.
